Finish and Future

Who doesn't love felt? Even the cat has to agree, it is such a wonderful material to be around. She knows nothing of work, but it is also a great material to work with.

I was not trying to include the cat, but did want to show you my latest finish and the fantastic stack of felt I just received from Kim at Retromama. She has stopped selling her felt (I scooped this up on sale), but continues to sell well-written and easy to follow patterns. She has quite a few freebies, too, if you want a sense of her patterns before deciding to buy.

This girl is going to a friend of ours who turned two not long ago. I don't exactly know what I'll do with all this felt. Puppet kits, no doubt. And accessories for dolls, though that is a LOT of hair bows! I made my kids felt crowns, which was great fun, and I would love to make more of those.

Have you seen any fun felt projects you think I should know about? Pass them along, I am always looking for inspiration!

ps For you cat-allergic people out there: yes, I normally keep the cat out of the fabric piles, but I just had to snap this pic before shooing her away.

It Can’t All Be Classy

It's not always wool felt and organic cotton around here, folks. On a snowy day when all the mittens are wet and the snow pants have been peed in, we are known to resort to glitter. If Valentine's Day cards for Gram do not call for glitter, I do not know what does.

It was too cold for snowmen but there was sledding off the picnic table and this mama even got to ski the loop! First time in years.

Hooray for snow days. Hope to show you some real works in progress soon. No glitter, still fun!
